hi just wondering if anyone knew at around what age labs go onto heat for their first time. cheers

Often around 8-10 months although I have seen 7 months and not until after year old. I highly doubt you have any good reason to keep an intact female.  Asking this question proves you haven't even started the research it would take to acquire a female suitable to breed.  Not just any AKC registered female is good enough.  Simplify life for yourself and her, get her spayed quick before she comes in heat.
