3rd floor apartment-cruciate ligament surgery

Question
My black lab mix, Sophie (10), had cruciate ligament surgery on her back left leg two days ago.  Problem is, we live on the 3rd floor of an apartment complex.  I weight 110 lbs, she weight 55 lbs.  Therefore, there is no way I can carry her everyday for 8 weeks up and down 3 flights of stairs.  I am trying to train her to potty on puppy pads outside on big balcony.  She still hasn't went for me.  Any suggestions?

Answer
You should have a sling to help support her when she walks.

Our ortho surgeon gave us one when our lab had elbow surgery...it's a towel with a handle on each end and you put it under their belly.

An adult dog will NOT potty in the house.
