lab mix puppy

Question
We recently decided to adopt a puppy, we are buying a house with an acre yard.We found a lab/ rott mix. She was 6 weeks old and is now almost 8 weeks old. She is extremely smart she knows to go outside to potty (but refuses in the rain or cold!!!!) including pushing open the screen door to go out. We knew she was going to be a job , but she cannot seem to learn her name or to come to you (unless you have food) .  She is quite hyper and we play hard with her.  She is very healthy, she has extremely large feet and hip joints and webbed feet. How big do you think she may get? Rottwieliers are large and labs are not  small either.

Answer
Typically pups do not go home until 8 weeks, so even though you have had this pup for 2 weeks, you have a lot of training ahead, and not knowing it's name and other puppy stuff at this age is NORMAL.  Unfortunately there is no way to really know the size of the dog when grown.  Foot size has nothing to do with it.  I have a girl who seemed huge as a pup with big feet and now at 6, she is our smallest dog at 70 pounds and small feet.
