Question
Hello sir, i have 2 months old lab puppy(scooby) and he weighs 8.8 lbs.. i would like to know whether  it is good for his age or should i improve it?? and if so how to improve it?? please help

Answer
Sounds good for now.  It is very important to give large breed puppies a good diet and keep them lean.  Control his body condition, not his weight.  You should be feeding a puppy chow now. Switching to an adult chow for the larger breeds at 4 months, slows growth and helps develop sturdier joints.

Your dog definitely should be narrower at the waist than the hips and chest. You should be able to easily feel the ribs, but not see them. Each dog is different. Standard recommendations are a good place to start, but each dog must have its food and exercise adjusted to its individual needs. Labs vary, some bigger than others.  You may find this link interesting,   http://jn.nutrition.org/cgi/content/full/134/8/2027S
