12 week old male lab dripping and leaking

Question
Hi,

My 12 week old black lab male isn't really having accidents any more, but drips all day long. In addition, whenever he lays down for a while and gets up, his hind legs @ stomach is SOAKED in urine. He's not making any puddles on the floor, it's literally leaking out of him.

He pees outside pretty well at this point.

He's not squatting, it doesn't appear submissive. Just individual droplets all over the tile floor, and as mentioned, the soaking of his hind legs/stomach area from when he stands up after he's been laying down for a while.

Breeder is offering a health guarantee. Is this simple bladder immaturity that will go away, or is this likely something serious? From what I've read, this type of uretha misplacement (if that's what it is) is not uncommon in labs, but almost exclusive to FEMALES.... help! If I need to take action I want to do it immediately before my 3 boys (and I) are far too attached to the pup. :(

Please advise, thank you.

P.S. we're bringing a urine sample in today to see if it's something more common like a urine infection...?

Answer
Your vet is a much better source of info on this problem than me.  I have never seen such a problem, but then my puppies come from a very careful breeding program.

Almost ever day I get a question here about breeding that the person asking must have never read a book about it.  I hate to think of the quality of puppies they produce.
