why does my chocolate lab eat her own bowl movement in the back yard? even in the snow she will dig for it. is this normal?

I think a common problem is a better description than normal.  I have had a number of puppies start about 4 months.  I think they find the frozen stools are even more interesting.  Many dogs outgrow it.  

You can work at cleaning they up first.  You can add things to food, pineapple juice or canned pumpkin, or the commercial products, forbid and Deter.
