Question
1 Fem Alaskan malamute - 1 mixed malamute/collie male
1 fem black lab pregnant for the 1st time
1 male stud muffin 1 year old - the stud muffin is now attacking, viciously attacking the male malamute, then the female malamute starts fighting with the female black lab.  They are to the serious knock down no separating drawing blood stage, %26 drawing blood when we try to separate.  We are taking the stud muffin to be fixed by next week.  This just started about 5 weeks ago.
The two malamutes are over 5 years old spayed %26 neutered
Female black lab 2 yrs old  - first pregnancy
Male stud muffin, first time he's had sex.....
What a mess.  We are trying to keep them separate now.  Any advice.  We love our dogs so much.
Panicking in Washington State.

Answer
Tough question outside my training and experience.  Nobody knows everything and the best answers come from those that know their limits.

Getting the muffin neutered should help.  Keep the pregnant Lab away from the rest as much as possible and plan to keep all the other dogs away when she whelps.  Many females with puppies won't tolerate other dogs at all.  Get her spayed after whelping when the vet will do it.

The key to most behavior problems is approaching things using the dog's natural instincts. Dogs see all the people and dogs in the household as a pack with each having their own rank in the pack and a top dog. Life is much easier if the 2 legged pack members outrank the 4 legged ones. You can learn to play the role of top dog by reading some books or going to a good obedience class. A good obedience class or book is about you being top dog, not about rewarding standard commands with a treat. Start at http://www.dogsbestfriend.com/ F
