I have a 6 month old black lab pointer mix and he weighs about 60lbs is that healthy or do i need to cut back his food?

Without seeing the dog in person, there is no way to tell if the dog is healthy.

Your vet is actually a great resource.

Unfortunately, there isn't just one perfect weight for a dog, even a 6 month old puppy mix.  You'll have to judge on their outline and if you can feel ribs.
