Question
I have a one year old chocolate lab. That runs off when let outside. And will not stop. I don't know why he is running off. Is it because he needs bred or is he just being disobedient? He also will go the bathroom in the house. He used to be in the house all the time. But I am doing in vitro and I had to put him out side. Is he doing this because we put him outside?

Answer
Start with getting him neutered.  It is highly irresponsible to let an intact male run loose.  The idea that he needs bred is an old wives tale that didn't deserve to survive the 50's.  For an example of the harm that failure to spay/neuter does, see how many Labs in your area need homes at www.petfinders.com.  You can't train him to stay home, and otherwise you will be adding to the millions of dogs slaughtered for lack of homes unless he gets killed on the road.

Even neutered, leaving a dog loose outside isn't acceptable.  Living outside in a fenced yard by itself isn't that good either.  If you can't have him inside for an extended period, perhaps you need to consider finding him a home where he can have the company dogs need.  You might best work through a Lab rescue.  See http://www.akc.org/breeds/rescue.cfm
