spotted lab?

Question
I just got a new lab puppy. The mother was chocolate and the father yellow. I have another black lab, and these parents looked pure bred to me. The puppy is yellow and chocolate spotted. I did some research and found that it could be a chromosome problem? Is the puppy full lab and if it is a genetic issue, will this effect her health?

Answer
Purebred Labs will show a certain amount of marking.  Most of the Labs I see are bred to be dog guides, and health and sturdiness are much more important than the perfect solid color.  So often some of the schools healthy Labs do have markings.  I don't know that it is a problem other than disqualifying them for show purposes.

I was taken to task here maybe a year ago for saying the markings were unusual. I still think they are because the show dog people have done their best to breed it out.  Even in the dog guide program, I never saw that many.  If you have a few hours to kill, you could dig back in the past answers for that question.
