Labrador sleeping outside

Question
Hi we have a two year old Labrador and she is a wonderful dog loved by all the family. But she has a habit of every few weeks of pooping all over the floor. She is housetrained although she is a silent dog she stands by the door and looks at you or comes into the room and gives you her look and we let her out. She is walked three times a day good walks and I buy a good quality food. I need to put her in a kennel when I work and at night will this be ok? I work for 6 hours but my dad comes round to walk her at lunchtime and we are in bed between midnight and 7am. I have to autistic sons, a five yr old daughter, a job and a home to run I just cannot cope with coming in to clean up that as well. My vet can find nothing wrong. And she would be in with us the rest of the time. Do you think she will cope with being outside?

Answer
The kennel is outside?  I don't think it's a good idea to leave the dog outside if no one is home.  I would worry that something could happen.  I would confine her to an area of the house that's easy to clean up (like the kitchen with a baby gate on the door to keep her in there), or put her in a crate when you are not home.

You said the vet said nothing is wrong, I am assuming they have done a fecal sample?  Ghiardi is common in dogs and can flare up causing diarrhea when they get stressed for some reason. You may want to double check with the vet to see if this was checked for or if it's even a problem in the UK like it is in the USA.  It's like a protozoa that you can't ever really get rid of, so it can reappear even after treated.
