Will my dog become grumpy?

Question
We are going to Queensland for a week and dont want to leave our 8 year old male Jack russel terrier(Noddy) at home by itself. you see our cousins have a younger female jack russel(Roxy) and we thought that it would be perfect for noddy to have company for the week. but if roxy falls pregnant with noddys litter after we take noddy home will his personality change? he is usually beautifully natured but ive heard that after male dogs mate they become snappy and grumpy. Is this all true im really comcerned

Answer
Hello Ebony
Unless you WANT Roxy to become pregnant you should not put the two together if she is in heat.
However, I have never heard anything about a Jack's personality changing after mating with a female. I have been breeding Jacks for a very long time and have never had a male's personality change after mating.  They might be tired immediately after mating and need a rest but long term, they absolutely DO NOT change and become snappy and grumpy.   Don't worry about it at all.
