-----Question-----
i have a 4 month old male sibe, i met a lady who has a 6 year old female sibe, who wants to get rid of her, i was thinking about taking her in, but my question is would this be possible, how well will the two get along i know these dogs are pack dogs and are generally good with other dogs, also i was wondering how old is too old to breed thanks for your time
-----Answer-----
Usually the male/female combination works pretty well, although six might be a little old if the dog was not properly socialized.  Not knowing the history or the dog traits, I can only say it's a lot better than a 6 year old male dog, but I can't promise a result one way or the other.  If the dog is very social, then you should have an easier time though.  Sibes are meant to be pack animals, so they are prone to do well though, but of course there is a difference between their natural tendencies and their life experiences.

As for breeding, unless the 6 year old has a strong pedigree that you can research the conformation to, stay away from breeding.  There is too much that needs to go into medical history to protect the dog and the pups that is not something to step into haphazardly.  Also, you would need to research the male's pedigree substantially enough to understand the genetic dispositions of the dogs to protect against medical problems.  My suggestion is to leave the breeding to those that have all that information.

Answer
Well, I think that is a good thing for the possible interaction of the two dogs.  As for breeding, I would say that I wouldn't recommend it.  First, it takes more than just the "papers" as you can have papers for a dog that has genetic abnormalities, poor traits and medical problems.  I recommend spending time researching the families of the dogs, medical history, parenting traits, etc.  Frankly, it is far too much work for me.  Also, at 6, I can't say that the dog is medically fit to handle it.  In any case, I don't breed and can't really give too much advice there.
