Question
QUESTION: well i just adopted "jewels" female and she used to be a stray shes scared of stairs and she does not bark at all she does not eat the food i give only treats the food i give her is "iams". and shes not active like all other huskies. i think its because she was spayed 2 days ago.

ANSWER: Huskies do not bark so that is normal (they wooo-wooo) If she is uncomfortable she will not even do that. If she was spayed 2 days ago, she will not want to climb the stairs it hurts. Since she hurts she will also not want to eat. (Also because she was a stray it will probably take years before she feels comfortable and trusts you.)
Iams isn't a very good food. Look at the ingredients. The first few ingredients should be meat. Not meat meal (it has all the beneficial nutrients cooked out of them, dried then gowned down to a meat flavored powder). Meat bi-products are also not good (these are the intestine with the poop still in them ground up and put into the dog food).  Also huskies aren't supposed to eat Soy, wheat and corn. They cannot digest those things properly so it just irritates the intestine giving them diarrhea. If kept on a food that keeps the stool soft they develop intestinal cancer later in life.
Foods I suggest are Canidae, Timber Wolf Organics, Innova, Gold medal (Wolf king ect), Natures Balance (meat log not the kibble) True bleu, and Wellness. These foods have never been on the recall list.

QUESTION: thanks again but i have another question ever since i had my dog shes been throwing up i think she has heart worms but if she does can i take her back to the vet? and they gave me pills to give her 2 every 24/hrs

Answer
Heart worm usually has a dry Cough associated with it. The way Hear worms recycle themselves through the body is. Eggs laid in the heart tissue, hatch and crawl into the lungs, Coughed up, swallowed in the stomach and intestinal tracked they get into the blood stream, by this time they are adults who lay eggs in the heart tissue. Vomiting could be something a little more serous. I would bring her back to the vet If she isn't eating I wouldn't hesitate in brining her in. Parvo, Distemper and canine flu cause this symptom. If she was a stray and never vaccinated and was in a pound like setting, lots of severely sick dogs go though and would spread it to your non-vaccinated dog. Please don't waste any time. Please tell me what happens when you bring her into the vet, I want to know. Could also be something as simple as she is getting sick off the pills.
