husky diarrhea

Question
hi, how are you?
my friend got a husky about 6 days ago and it has constant diarrhea.  it was a stray, but it looks about 2 months old.  its extremely watery, and the dog is pretty lethargic.  however, it does have a good appetite.  my friend unfortunately lives up in the middle of nowhere; they don't care about dogs there. . . there are literally no vets anywhere.  he's already switched it to a diet of just rice, but it doesn't seem to be helping.  Also, since there are no vets, it obviously has not had any of its shots, although it is on deworming medication.  (Btw, it had diarrhea before it went on the medication. . . and there is absolutely no change.)Can you recommend anything we can do to help?  Is there a reason to worry at this point?  cuz i am already worrying. . .

Thanks so much.

Answer
This little one sound like it has Coccidia, geardia, or parvo (is it vomiting?). Coccidia and Geardia are both caused by parasites but normal wormer will not do anything.
Panacure is the dewormer you want if you want to go that route. An antibiotic that works is Amoxicillian. You can order Fishmox through Fosters and smith (1 pill for  a pup one at morning 1 at  night). The fish meds do not need prescriptions. Just watch the exp date. Keep it in the fridge other wise it losses potency before the exp date.
Hope this helps. I am not a Vet but I have used this in a pinch I always have something on hand. Also feeding the pup canned pumpkin will help solidify the stool.
