I just recently adopted a 4yr old male husky. my husband and I play with him a lot and take him for walks, but it never fails that as soon as we come in from outside he whines constantly for at least an hour.... we tell him to go lay down and he does for like five seconds then he gets up and starts whining again... when we got him we took him to the vet (before we discovered this problem) to get his shots and they said he was perfectly healthy. please help .... thank you very much!!
Answer He was probably and outdoor dog before you got him. You will just have to ignore him (I know easier said then done). He will insist on his way if you give in and he will not stop whining if you don't stand your ground. He could also be doing it to get attention (he whines you yell at him, it isn't good attention but it is attention, if he came from a neglectful/abusive owner before you any attention at all will be good to him). Be aware of how you react to his whining and try to change your behavior to change his. I do not know his history, did the rescue/humane society let you know anything about his past? They come with baggage, but once the problems are ironed out they make some of the best dogs! Don't give up! He is a beautiful boy!
