6 week great dane

Question
I work as a vet tech and recently rescued a 6 wk great dane pup that weighs 4.0 pounds, loaded with round worms and seems to have a hard time keeping anything in his stomach. Seems to have a bubble on his throat that inflates and deflates as he breathes. He is currently on nurturall-c milk replacer and clavomox. I have tried soaked IAMS puppy but he seems to vomit even more. Any suggetions?

Answer
As a vet tech you should have access to the latest diagnostic equipment and advice.  What does your vet say?  Is he aware of 'strangles?

He is certainly underweight by about 50%.  Get rid of the worms ASAP we use Panacur syrup.

Try adding eggs to the milk.  You can also add cereals like Weetabix, porridge etc.  Make the milk thick and creamy.  Get some vitamin tablets from the pharmacy.  We use multivitamin when we need to they are cheaper than those from the vet and contain more vitamins.
