Hiccups

Question
We recently adopted 5-6 year-old a blind pomeranian mix. She does not chew her dry dog food, just moistens it and swallows. Is this ok? Does it cause the hiccups she gets when she wakes up in the morning?

Thanks!

Answer
Many rescue pet have little or no teeth and it is common and perfectly fine for them to just swallow the food as long as it is small bite kibble.  You can also wet the food with water if it makes you feel better.  It would be easier for the dog also. ;)

Hiccups? I don't know anything about that.  I would check it out with your vet just to be sure it is not something serious as you said it happens daily.

Best of luck!
