Question
Gracie is our black almost 2 yo pom, but we've only had her for one year.  I have been trying different brands of dry foods to see which she likes best. (Usually none of the department store brands, but science diet and Iams).  I usually buy 5-8 pounds at a time then switch to a different brand and someone said that this wasn't a good idea for poms. That I should stick with one brand.  Is this true?  We didn't want her to get board with it.  This last time, we mixed Iams with a cheaper department store brand (meat and veg flavor)because she didn't care much for the Iams. Does it matter to mix the different brands?

And next question.  We've had alot of wet weather where we live and bathes are often, but it seems like the shampoos that we've tried don't take care of that "wet" odor. When we take her for grooming she smells sooo good and it lasts longer, even when she spends time outside.  Can you recommend something?
Thanks for your time and Help!

Answer
You should not be switching foods on your dog like that.  It is not good for her digestive tract.  If you are going to try a new food you need to give 1/2 of the old mixed with 1/2 of the new for w few days then a little more of the new and then a little more of the new till it is all new.  Switching can cause upset stomach.  Dogs don't need variety.  Just treats and chewies every now and then.

When dogs get wet they stink..  It is universal :) you can spray your pet wit a little spray deoderant and that might help but constant bathing dries the skin and washes away the natural oils in the coat.
