How much should my pomeranian eat

Question
Hi,
I have a 5 month old pomeranian who I currently feed Ultra puppy dry food and a raw turkey and vegetable mix that I make for her.  She are very little until about a week ago, and now all of the sudden she has started eating ALL the time.  I have been free feeding her to insure that she doesn't go hypoglycemic, but in one week alone she has gained almost 1/2 a lb, and she feels really chubby now. I find her eating from her dish all the time, and when I feed her the raw food she licks the plate clean. She will even eat my other dogs food before he can get to it if I don't stop her. The trouble is I don't know how much she should be eating.  I have found weight to food charts similar to the one on the back of her dry food bag, but they don't cover dogs of her small size (2.5 lb).  How much should I feed a puppy of her size without letting her get overweight, and how do I know when she is overweight?
Also, I am curious how big she will get.  Do you know from experience what weight she should mature at if she is 2.5 lbs at 5 months?  Thanks

Answer
Being that size and that age I would still free feed... it is just what I would do to be safe.  I would rather my pup be a bit fat than have a hypoglycemic episode-they are very scary.
We usually trry to guess by weighing at 8 weeks and triple or 12 weeks and double... so it is hard to tell at 5 mo but I would guess under 4 lbs grown.  But I have been fooled before... growing way bigger or staying tiny.  Depends on the heritage of the parents.  Do they continue to grow? Do they level off? How big were parents? Grandparents? that is a good gage.

Best of luck. Sounds like you are doing all the right things.
