two better than one

Dear Trish:
I have a question that you might be able to shed some light on.  I recently lost my baby, best friend, and the light of my life, my 11 1/2 year old Pomeranian, Casey.

I have found one puppy which I now have.  Since I work all day she is home alone. When my older Pomeranian was little my father was living with me however he passed before she did, however she was use to being home alone.  

I have found a second Pomeranian puppy and seriously considering purchasing her also to keep my other puppy company and to share my love with two.  I have never had two dogs or puppies at a time. I remember reading once that if you can afford to get two Pomeranians that it is a good idea although I can not remember where I read this.

Can you tell me from you past experience; is it true that it is better for Pomeranians to have another Pomeranian for company?  The one that I currently have is a little doll and she will be about 4 1/2 to 5 lbs when she is grown.  The one that I am considering purchasing for her friend is also a little girl and will be about the same size when full grown and they are almost the same age.

Thank for any insight you can give.  I have loved several Pomeranians during my life but never two at a time.

Dogs are pack animals. :o) They mostly prefer to be in the company of other dogs unless they do not know they are a dog...
BUT and this is a huge BUT... if you do not have the time for one then training 2 can be difficult.  There are pro's and cons to all aspects of owning one or two or any Poms... another WILL keep your new pup company.  Another will be one more for you to love.  Another will be more work to train and could take affection away from you and put on this new "sibling".

It really is a personal choice.  Just knowing the pro's and con's can help you to know what is best ofr you and your little pup.
