Bulldog Crate Training

Question
We have a 6 month old Bulldog.  We have had him for about 3 months.  He is doing really good with housetraining.  He will go to the door when he needs to go out.  But our problem is that he pees in his crate at night and then stands/lays in it.  He only does it on occasion, but he doesn't make a noise until after he has went.  We take away his food and water around 6 pm, and we put him outside before we put him in the crate for bedtime.  Does he just not know how to hold it yet, or could something else be wrong?

Answer
If he's peeing in his sleep and then waking up and crying about it, something could definitely be wrong.

However, I believe it's just something he hasn't outgrown yet. Let him out at night as late as possible, cut the water off at 5 instead of 6 until he gets this under control.  Otherwise, it sounds like he's really doing a great job for his age.

Oh, one more thing, if you're putting anything in his crate for him to sleep on, a towel, blanket, paper even, take it all out. When he realizes there's nothing to soak it up he'll hate being in it. I think this is working already to a degree.
