good match for our bulldog

Hello, I have a five month old male english bulldog.  My fiance and I are interested in getting another dog.  Are there any specific breeds to consider that would make a good companion for our bulldog puppy? Any to avoid?  Thank you for your time.

Avoid breeds who will be much larger and more active, like a Lab perhaps. They will exhaust a Bulldog puppy. A Pug perhaps or another medium sized dog with a little more energy. A play buddy will do a Bulldog good as long as they play is supervised and the Bulldogs doesn't over do it.
