Question
I have a 3yr old boxer who has not wanted to eat all day today nor drink water.  His ears felt warm when I got home but have cooled down some after he vomited earlier(white foamy looking consistency). Do I need to be worried at this point?  He is otherwise still active and playful.

Answer
Warm ears, and warm and dry nose, is a symptom of fever. Where there's fever, there's an infection-- a problem.

Not eating, nor drinking, (and drinking with a fever is usually increased, not decreased) indicates there is a stomach problem.

You should call your vet and see what they want you to do, and they might want you to take him in due to his fever and not drinking nor eating.

Try to entice him to drink baby electrolyte (Pediolyte- a generic is fine-- unflavored) to hydrate him. He needs liquids and the electrolytes do the trick.

Also, my money is on he WILL eat PLAIN whole UNFLAVORED yogurt.

This gives him good bacteria for his digestive tract and might kill off any bug he has.

So go get the Pediolyte and yogurt and see how he does for a day. But still call your vet.
