urinating in the house after having puppies

Question
Hi I have a 4 1/2 year old boxer that has started urinating in the house after having her  litter of puppies she has never done this before and it seems to be coming a real problem. She hasnt peed or pooped in teh house since she was a puppy and now it seems really out of control. She also seems to be peeing an excessive amount of urine.  When we let her outside she pees at least 4 or 5 times before coming back in and 30 mins later will pee in the house. This is her 3rd litter and has never done this before. Her puppies are 3 weeks old and she still has a small amount of blood when she pees. Is this normal please help!

Answer
No, this is not normal-- and dangerous.

She could have a urinary infection, common after giving birth, as well as a problematic bladder from carrying puppies and whelping at the age of 4 1/2, which is too old to be breeding.

Her life is almost half over- 10 year life expectancy, and giving birth at an "old" age?

She needs to go to a vet ASAP to check for urinary/bladder infections which can spread to her kidneys causing kidney failure, and check to be certain her bladder isn't tilted due to a tiled uterus. She should not have blood at all from whelping. This is a sign of a severe problem.
