Question
Lisa,
Hello thanks for all your help. I have another question for you. When is a male pup ready to do his thing? Our male Boston is only 3 months and I know it's pretty early for him but just wanted to know. Our female Boston will be going into her 2 heat in February.  Thanks again, and God Bless

Answer
Hi Michele,

A male will certainly try to do his business as early as three months. However, this is only practice for him. He may even manage to lock up by 6 months, but he chances are high he will only be shooting blanks. Their sperm count usualy matures around 10 months. If you want to breed hgere when her time comes, it would be best to find an experienced male...its is better for the health of the puppies as well as the safety and assurances of the female. By the time your male is ready, she will be the experienced one and all will be well.
Best of luck...Lisa
