Itchiness and mild twitching/seizing

Question
Hi Marie!  I have a 2 year old Boston. A month ago  I switched her to Science Diet lamb and rice, and I am giving her skin+coat supplements every day. I also give her oatmeal baths 2x a month. She still scratches her ears CONSTANTLY, and she makes herself cry because her claws hurt, I itch them for her and clean them once a week with a swab. She also scratches at her face, especially under her eyes.  She also has tiny red/black spots on her belly- looks like flea bites but I give her Revolution, she does not have fleas. What can I do to ease this for her!? Can I give her Benadryl every day?
Also, a month ago, I took her to the vet about her itchiness, they gave her a steroid shot.  This was the first time they ever gave this to her, usually they give her cortizone.  The very next night she started having mild "seizures", she was responsive, but could not walk and was twitching all over.  I took her to the emergency room, and her vet the next day.  I called her vet on to the way to the E.R.- and she said there was no way it was from the shot.  THEN the E.R. said it was from the shot.  The next day I took her to her vet and a different one ran bloodwork, it came back fine, and told me it probably WAS a reaction to the shot.  How confusing!   I am so frustrated because she continues to have mild twitching/spasms at night about once a week.  But each time they are not as bad as the last. But I know they make her feel miserable.   What could this be?   Please any advice would be appreciated!

Answer
Hello Amanda, The Science Diet is a very poor food with junk ingredients.  I know your vet sells this product but it is an average to poor food.
YES, I would love to help you..... NO more shots for this kid.....  Very common to have adverse effects to the allergy injections and steroids.

1.  Slowly change over the Science diet to a new grain free food.  Use a good one like Innova EVO; Wellness Core; or Merrick Before Grain .....
Let' me know if you can't find the above and I can suggest a few others.
Mix the OLD food and the NEW food at a 50:50 mix for 3 weeks and then go 100% to the new food.
Grain-free will help with the itching and stratching!
I work with many Bostons with the same problems as your gal.

2.  Please take her off your skin/coat supplement for now and give the following:
  a.  Vitamin C 150 mg per day ( look for Ester c - mix into her food daily)- long term.
  b.  Vitamin E  (50IU)  Just 1 of a 50 IU per day for about 6 weeks.
  c.  Probiotic - Yogurt  (4 oz) per day of Activia yogurt with the active cultures..
Do this for 3 weeks ( plain or van flavored)

3.  Please give (1 1/2) NuVET Plus wafer supplement per day / ***ALLERGY Blaster****
** Gets rid of the itchies/  and immune system booster to fight off the allergies.
Most dogs need only 1 NuVET wafer per day but your gal needs 1 1/2 because she is a severe case.
VERY SAFE / HOLISTIC / *Can be taken with Anything your vet also gives your dog.
Call in M-F  1-800-474-7044  Tell them Pet Nurse Marie sent you for the NuVET- explain that you need the 1 1/2 per day rather than the 1 per day.  ( order code 81098)
Again, this is very safe and will help a bunch!  They do give you a 60 day money back guarantee on all call-in orders... PLUS  you can get the 15 % --- Ask about the 15% off program.

YOU may want the tea tree oil hot spot shampoo / NuVET can send it to you along with the wafers.
They have a hotspot spray too, with TEA tree oil - takes away the itchies.
Give the wafers a good 3 weeks to KICK in.

If you follow my advice, you have a very good chance of success!
