Question
When is the best time to start tranisitioning my puppy from puppy dog food to adult dog food? Currently I have him on the Nutro Natural Choice small bite puppy food. His gas is ridiculous and I would like to move to the best dog food for him and something that will curb his gas. And if possible, lessen the amount of poop that comes out of his little body.

Answer

SoJO grain free dog fo

Diana, I had to laugh .... about the poop that comes out of the little  body!!!  So cute...
I know just what you and your Boston boy need:  He needs less grains in his diet.  Bostons do not do well with too many corns.  The Nutro is full of corns and grains....NOT too much meat at all.  That is the cause of the gas.

Here is what you can do:  Right now it would be fine to slowly take him off the Nutro puppy food and go to a Holistic GRAIN-FREE food:
ONE of my favorites is the SoJO Dog food:  They will require you to add some fresh or lightly cooked meat to the dog food mix.
IT is ALMOST home cooking - KIND of like hamburger helper for dogs.
The BEST you can do is some SoJO ... They make 2 kinds/ I would get the grain free SoJO - SEE Here:  They offer Free shipping right to your door if you are in the USA.

I would like you to make this change over slowly - mix the SoJO dog food with the Nutro food/  Do a 50:50 mix for about 3 weeks - AFTER that you should be able to go 100% to SoJO home cooking goodness.
MY maltese is so healthy with the SoJO cooking.
And it is my KIND of easy home-made cooking -  NOT really home made!

Another thing : Please start your baby on 1 teaspoon of olive oil per day / you can mix this into one of his meals...HE should be eating 2 good meals per day.  Olive oil is good for his coat, digestion and joints/ hips....

NOW- the LAST is a NuVET Plus wafer per day:  Almost all my clients take 1 or 2 NuVET  Plus Supplements per day:
Bostons are prone to skin, coat and joint problems...NUVET helps to protect your dog's health and wellness.
It also helps with the gas and digestion problem .....
NuVET will cost you about .60 cents per day / IT is a TREAT for your dog...MOST dogs take it like a treat.

SEE Here: USE order code 81098 / so we can track all my clients.
OH< and please give my name: Pet nurse Marie Peppers

LOOK for the NuVET Wafers  -
a 60 count is 39.00 ....and a 90 count bottle of wafers is 55.00
Try it for 60 days....They give a 60 day money back guarantee...
All natural and safe....

OH< the SoJO folks also offer a MONEY back Guarantee, too..
So, no risk in trying it out.

OK, NEW food, OIL and some NuVET Plus

ONE More thing:  A raised feeding dish / station will help... Bostons tend to suck in too much air when eating.  ( thus it turns to gas in the belly - smelly gas)
A Raised feeding dish/station can help the AIR intake problem....

BEST wishes/ KEEP me posted
