Question
My daughter has a purebred Ragdoll male kitty. He is now 3 years old. My son also has a male cat that is a mutt but is the exact same age as my daughters cat. These two have been raised together and were both neutered at 3 months of age and are indoor only cats. Suddenly last Fall the day before school started, Hercules (the Ragdoll) began urinating on my boys clean clothes (we have 4 kids)We took him to the vet and had him thoroughly checked out, nothing is physically wrong with him. We have tried all kinds of behavior modification techniques, none of which were negative for Hercules in any way. He gets LOTS of attention and love, but he is very high strung emotionally. He's not easily startled, but is very curious and wants to be in charge of all the other animals in the house (We also have a large dog and 2 birds)We are at are wits end with Hercules and now he has to be locked up in my daughters room unless he is on a leash. This seems very cruel to do to him, but we don't know what else to do. Can you help?

Answer
instead of locking up the cat, teach your boys to keep their bedroom doors closed so the cat cant get in there.
it is really hard to tell why he is peeing on certain things, could be a smell, could be anything. keep in mind the cat is acting on instinct. so teach the boys to keep their bedroom doors shut so the cat cant get in there, thats really the only fair thing to do.
