My Cat Have Done a horriable thing!!

my cat got birth today to 3 kittens it was kinda wired happened suddenly but they were okey and i saw them moveing and she was licking them,she left them but an hour later she came back took one of them and started playing with it (i thought she was playing)but eventualy she ate it!! :( why? how could that happen? whats wrong with here?
can u explain this action?
i just feel to throw up

they didnt have the same fait, she had enough food so i really doubt food was the reason

Hi Iseed, well that is horrible ! Have you checked on the other two kittens to make sure they are ok? sometimes a cat will do this if they think there is something wrong with the kitten or if they feel they are unsafe which is what I guess happened with yours. Normally when a cat has a litter they do not leave their kittens at all !! And because your cat left for so long and then came back and killed a kitten I think it is because she did not feel they were in a safe place or that she was safe. I would recommend at this point that you get those other 2 kittens away from her and either find them a foster mom or feed them yourself. Most likely she is NOT going to take proper care of them and she will probably kill them also.. maybe not today but probably soon if they are left with her. Teresa
