NEW ADOPITVE CAT OWNER

I RECENTLY ADOPTED A MALE CAT FROM PETSMART.HE IS VERY SHY,WONT EAT MUCH AND HIDES MOST OF THE TIME.I REALLY WANT HIM TO FEEL SAFE AND AT HOME HERE. WHAT CAN I DO TO MAKE HIM FEEL THAT I WONT HARM HIM?

Just be patient. Your new family member needs time to get to know you and feel comfortable in new surroundings. Just to rule out any medical reasons for his lack of appetite you should have him examined by a qualified vet. Other than that I would suggest placing his litter box and food in low traffic areas away from each other and showing him where they are. The rest will work out in time.
