Question
Hi,

I have a 12 year old male cat. I want to supplement his dry food with wet. I have been giving him a 2.75 oz. tray of Meow Mix Wholesome Goodness wet food in the morning. I also give him 3/4 - 1 cup per day of Iams Active Maturity Senior dry food. I leave that out all day/night for him to free feed. My questions are:
1. Are the brands of food I am feeding him healthy for a senior cat?
2. Am I feeding him too much of the dry food? If so, how much of the dry food should I give him per day?

3. Is it o.k. that he eats two different brands of food at the same feeding- He likes to eat the dry food as soon as he's done with the Wholesome Goodness.

Thanks!
Jennifer

Answer

NuVET feline powder
Iams cat food reviews; feeding senior cat home-cooking ; cat food recipes

Hello Jennifer , The Iams is a better brand then the other.  I sure like Innova or Wellness brands better for cats.  Also, it is best that your cat gets 80 % of his food from Moist canned and not dry.  (80% wet and only 20% dry foods for a senior cat)
Cats need more moisture so they don't get kidney diseases.

He needs about 1 cup of wet in the am and 1/2 cup of wet in the pm.
A small amount of Dry food to snack on.  ( just place down to "free-feed" on the dry)

You may want to place this Senior Cat kid on 1 teaspoon of NuVET Feline formula per day - Wonderful immune system booster and keeps the VET away...
NuVET is Holistic / Natural and very safe :
