my cats food intolerance

Question
My cat, who I found with two others from the same litter, has been diagnosed with a severe food allergy.  He was dying when I found him and had a severe intestinal infection of which he was treated for.  He became sick again after two weeks completing the antibiotics he was on.  My vet, who had seen this once before, suggested that he had a food allergy and that I feed him boiled pork and Royal Canin green pea and rabbit food.  That seemed to work for a while and still does, but he has terrible diarrhea sometimes and just doesn't gain any weight.  He is approximately 8 months old and weighs only 3.1 lbs.  His brother is very healthy and weighs 9.2 lbs.  When I got them neutered about 6 weeks ago they received a clean bill of health other than they seemed to think that my cat with the food allergy may have some mental disabilities resulting from his severe illness at such a young age - when I found him.  I was wondering if you had heard of anything like this and if you had any other suggestions for food to help my little guy get ahead of the game and be a bit more normal in his intestinal functions.

Hi Amy - We can try to help your little one - I bet there is some Yeast in his intestinal system.  Yes, your vet is correct about the foods....keep it up.  Good program for his system.
