Question
My cat developed acute pancreatitis among other problems a
few
moths ago, he underwent an operation and is now on Royal
Canin
medium calorie foods. the reason he developed this as far as
im
aware is as he was constantly in my bins wheni was asleep
etc no
matter how hard i tried to deter him, he was on dry food and
i
didnt think i over fed him with that. the issue is he can
only have
2 sachets a day of this food, he literally inhales the
stuff, i
timed him today on eating one of the pouches, it was gone in
3 mins
flat, all day everyday he is meowing and investigating
everywhere
looking for food, he is misbehaving really badly, i'm
constantly
hissing at him, he is up on the sideboards scavanging any
crumb of
bread thats left and then continues on his scavenge, the
vets have
highlighted that he can only have food with less then 3.6%
of fat
in and also a maximum of 2.5 pouches or 56g of dry food. i'm
doing
my best to tell myself he will adjust to this new feeding
style but
its been 3 weeks now and i'm forever just chasing him off
things or
locking him out of the room for some peace and quiet, this
is not
why i got a cat of course. he knows he is misbehaving as as
soon as
i stand up he runs a mile away. is there anything i can add
to his
foods? rice maybe? just to give him some substance and
ultimately
get a relaxed cat back.

All advice on this matter is welcome.

Thanks

Mark

Answer
Wow Mark! So sorry about this.  Yes, Please follow the Vet's advice on the food and intake.  You may be able to add just a little more to his feeding program.  PLEASE ask your Vet about this?

To calm this cat how about some Valerian in his food ??:
( this will be needed daily)
Here is some info on what to look for in Valerian:
