eating to fast...

hi-my puppy of 13 wks. inhales his food. he never chews it.  it takes him 20 sec. to eat a cup and half. is this ok?? how can i get him to slow down or chew it?? helen jones

he will grow out of it some.  many puppies have this problem because in litters you have to compete for food.

give a small amount each time until he has had his meal.

but give him a break right now.. he is just a baby. MOST dogs do not enjoy their food... they will inhale it and beg for more. Thats just a dog for you :)
