Cat Smell

Question
My roomate has a very sickly looking cat.  He rescued it from an abandoned warehouse.  The cat looks ragged and smells horrible.  My roomate has admitted that a liquid oozes from the cat's belly sometimes.  I know this is a very general description but could you give me some ideas what this might be and if it is possible to get it treated?  I have been trying to get my roomate to take the cat to the vet but he refuses so far.  I am worried for my own health at this point.  Thank you for any help you can tgive me.

Answer
ok first of all your roomate can have the cat taken from him because of NEGLECT!

As a roomie you can either take him to the shelter( call the shelter or animal control and they can come take the cat) to be humanely euthanized OR you can take him in to get an exam done.

The cat may have cancer or FIP, or an abcsess- no liquid should be dripping from its abdomen. Period.
