Question
During the summer my lab is in the water every day.  His ears then get prone to infection and odor.  What is a good home remedy i can swab or drop in his ears after swimming to prevent this problem.

Thank you.

Answer
What you put in the ears depends alot on what kind of infection (bacterial or yeast) and if the dog is allergic or not.  Many labs are allergic and that's what causes the skin of the ear to get red and hot, which allows the bacteria and yeasts to grow in the ear.

Vinegar mixed 50:50 with water or alcohol works well in some dogs.  In others it causes more irritation.
