Neutered and shots

Question
Hello,

I just got a new dog, Shitzue 4 days ago.  He is 7 weeks old.  At 6 weeks he received his 1st set of shots and since I am responsible for the rest I would like to know when I need to go for the rest of his shots?

Also, at what age should I get him neutered?
Is it true that he can have some kind of incontinence after the surgery?  I read that in a Shitzue book?  If so, what are the chances of that happening?

Thank you,
Linda

Answer
Puppies should receive booster vaccines every 3-4 weeks until they are about 4 months old.

Typically, we recommend neutering at 6 months of age.  And no, it is not true that they will have incontinence after surgery.  Some dogs as they age will experience incontinence, just like people, but it is moreso with females.
