Question
Can a cat become pregnant after only one mating, since it usually requires a mating just to induce ovulation?

Answer
Sincere apologies for the delayed response.

It is highly unlikely though not completely impossible for first mating to lead to pregnancy.  The average time for ovulation to occur after mating is 20-50 hours.  The ability for sperm to survive this length of time is very rare, but individual variety in cats could lead to an early ovulation.  It is much more likely for a cat to be impregnated by later matings than the first.

Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance and again apologies for the delay.
