Question
I just got a kitten. I found it on the side of the road. Its drags its front right paw. I took it to the vet. The vet told me theres nothing he can do for it since it was a stray and we dont know how long its foot has been like this and for me to just let the kitten drag its paw like that. Is that really true is there nothing i can do for it. It has some feeling in the paw the vet found out.

Answer
Unfortunately Beverly that may be the case. The little guy or girl has nerve damage to the shoulder when this happens. Some cats do heal and since he is young I wouldn't give up yet.Feeling in the paw is a good sign but that doesn't mean the nerves higher weren't damaged.
If he truly has a dead arm as it were, and he is healthy in every other aspect, and if he doesn't drag it and make sores on it, then you can just let him be.
If he drags it so much that he injures it with wounds from the dragging, then you should have the foot or whole leg amputated when he is neutered at about 6 months old. By then you will know if he is going to recover usage of the leg or not.
Millions of cats lead healthy and very happy lives being three legged, so don't let that put you off. You will have to make him a house cat, but I am sure he will be fine with that.
