Guinea Pig Neutering

Question
I now have 3 little male guinea pigs.  How old do they have to be before I can get them neutered?

Hi Angela!
Guinea pigs reach sexual maturity by 3-4 months of age.  Neutering guinea pigs can be trying, as guinea pigs often times do not do well under anesthesia.  The veterinary office where I work does not neuter guinea pigs because of the way they react to the anesthesia.  I would definitely discuss this matter with your veterinarian to see where he/she stands on neutering guinea pigs.
