Natural Gas Exposure in Dogs

Question
We recently were told our house had a natural gas leak.  We had it fixed right away.  Two days later, our Yorkshire Terrier woke us up at 330am vomitting multiple times.  She also had diahrea later that same day.  Note, our yorkie is also in heat, and she is constantly licking herself "where she shouldn't!".  What do you think is wrong??

Answer
Hello!
Sometimes they do vomit just after doing that licking :-) How long has it been since her bleeding has started? Sometimes they do develop an infection of the uterus called pyometra usually after their heating period, and vomiting is usually seen in that too, but her general state of health condition would worsen too, how is she now in general?
I don't really think that the gas leak has caused it because it has been two days after, but it is a possibility.
Usually vomiting and diarrhea are seen together, and none of them are definite symptoms, they can be caused by numerous things, for example by something she has eaten, by intestinal parasites, by a viral disease like parvo, distemper (I am also counting those in because I dont know if she has all of her vaccinations or not, a bacterial infection, etc. Is she still vomiting? If yes, you should take her to a vet. If she is ok now, I wouldnt worry too much, but still keep an eye on her, and see if there is any change in her general state of health. Please keep me informed on how it goes.
Kind Regards,
