dog tail droop

My Lab's tail suddenly went limp w/ no obvious kinks or trauma.  Any advice?

You can try giving a dose or two of aspirin...5 mg per pound twice a day to reduce any potential inflammation (DO NOT GIVE IF S/HE IS ON ANY ARTHRITIS or OTHER PAIN MEDICINE).   

Often times function will return in a few days....this is a common occurence in sporting dogs and often times happens after a lot of activity.
