Cats With Sores Near Tail

Question
I have two cats.  One came home the other day with a sore spot like a cut near her tail that almost looked like she'd been hit by something, or cut there.  I didn't think a lot of it.  She seems to be ok otherwise.  Today, I noticed my other cat has a very similar sore in the exact same place.

Could this be something that's spreading among the cats?  It looks worse than what ringworm would cause, and I can't find anything else in any of the resources I've looked up online that looks like it.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Answer
Obviously, without seeing the cats, it would be hard for me to make any type of diagnosis.  But cats do tend to get their tails caught in things and they do fight with each other.  That could be how the injuries occurred.  Have your vet check them to see what they might be caused from.
