Question
We have 3 shiba inus. 1 is the dad, 3 years old, one is mom-2 years old, and one is puppy from the first litter-1 year old. Mom and puppy are fighting constantly since they both went into heat a couple of months ago and are out. They fight constantly to where we can't have the one yaer old even looking out the window at the other. They will be getting spayed next week. Will that help this severe aggressive behavior? And is there anything we can do to help it? dad is already fixed.

Answer
Hello!

I can't say that the problem will be gone for sure after they are spayed, behaviour problems are very complicated and sometimes you need more than just one solution to solve them. But I can say that spaying is a good idea, and it may help if the behaviour problem is originated from the hormone levels, etc. If that doesn't help, you may want to see a vet specialised in animal behaviour and psychology and he/she may consider the use of some anti-depressants, etc.
