Question
QUESTION: Hello;

My nine year old GSD was diagosed with hypothyroidism in Dec of 2007.  When she did not seem to improve by the end of March 2008, she was tested and found to have Cushings Disease. Could the cushings have caused the thyroid condition?  She is also suffering with Spondylosis(?) Deformans for which she takes tramadol and sees an acupuncturist.  She is on trilostane for the cushings.
Thanks!!

Answer
Hello Char- Cushings is many times diagnosed as a Thryoid Problem and Disease.  Looks like your dog is diagnosed with both of them?
I don't believe the Cushings would have cause the Thyroid problem.
They are connected with two different areas of your pet's body functions.  The two problems can be genetic ( from mom or dad)...

What food are you feeding ?????  How about any supplements?
I can help in that area..Let me know if you want to add some healthy supplements to her program...
