Question
hi, my male siberian husky is 10 months old. he is very thin and his stomach
is sunken in slightly. is this normal? i feed him well and he gets proper care. i
have tried putting meat and gravy into his food to make him eat more, but he
just doesnt seem to have a big appetite. i have switched his food many times
also. im quite worried! he has been checked for worms and he isnt vomiting
or anything. what could be the problem??
also he is moulting for the first time and it is particularly bad! what is the
regular time span for moulting? its been about a month now and the hair is
still coming off in clumps! do you have any tips in that area??
thank you very much,
amanda from dublin, ireland.

Answer
Do you know if the puppy is gaining weight?  Some pups will grow and look very thin until they put on muscles.  If he is gaining weight, then not too much to worry about.  As far as the shedding (moulting) that is normal in a puppy that young.  It is the release of the undercoat as springtime comes.  Keep brushing him out.  THat is a problem with the Huskies...they have such a thick undercoat.  YOu can try adding omega 3 fatty acids to his diet.
