Miniature Pinscher ate a pistachio

Question
Honestly, if my dog was a larger breed I would not be at all concerned but as she is so small (larger for her breed). My problem is that she ate the whole pistachio, shell and all and possibly two of them. She ate it and approx 12 hours later she has vomited a small amount of yellowish liquid. She is around 5 m0s old.

Answer
Vomiting yellow liquid usually means that there is inflammation going on in the pancreas and gut.
The pancreas can become very inflamed from eating even bits of the wrong kinds of foods.

It's hard to say whether or not this is serious but I consider ALL pancreatic inflammation serious because it can lead to fatal pancreatitis very easily and quickly.

If this were my dog I would call my vet and maybe get her in to be seen. Never fool around with a dog vomiting bile.

They are not toxic but since it is something that is not in the normal diet, they cause an "upset." That is what starts the inflammation.

Better to be safe then sorry. I would suggest having her looked over.
