HI DR.GOTTHELF!CAN YOU TELL THE TREATMENT,PREVENTION,CAUSE AND SYTOMS OF EAR DISEASES IN DOGS AN CATS?WHAT ARE THEY MOST AFFECTED WITH AND HOW TO TREAT IT?THANK YOU

I have writen a 300 page book for veterinarians that tries to answer your questions.  (Small Animal Ear Diseases; An Illustratred Guide) Mostly though, ear disease results from skin allergies that get the ear infected as a result.  SO if you are going to do anything for an ear problem, try controlling the allergies first, then treat specifically for the organisms that live in the affected ear.  That will require your veterinarian to help.
