Question
Hi,
my kitten has worms and the office is not open till monday, they seem to be really bad. I have done research and I have narrowed them down to round worm. What can I do for him. I also need to know if I can be harmed because I am in my third trimester of pregnency and I have a two year-old son. Are we in danger?"

Answer
I would wait until monday to get the kitten treated as long as she is eating and active. The veterinary drugs are more effective and there may be other worm egg present as well. One drug could treat them all rather than you getting a not so current drug just for rounds in the store.

Wash your hands and have your son wash hands after playing with the kitten. Clean the litter twice a day and wash your hands. While there is a slight chance of a condition called visceral larval migrans where a person can get sick from ingesting eggs, you usually need to have a lot of eggs over a long period of time to get sick.

To really learn how to have your cat live a very long and healthy life, you may want to take a 6 week Teleclass/Webinar on the 7 Keys to Healthy Pets.
